Music Lessons
My undergraduate degree from West Chester University is in music education and I have a Masters of Music in music composition from Peabody Institute. I teach piano to all ages and ability levels. I strive to respond to the student’s musical interests, strengths and goals in learning music; while also challenging the student in a fun, creative way to make improvements at those elements of music making that may be a struggle. As a composer, improviser and artistic collaborator, I teach skills that strengthen musicianship such as music reading, knowing scales and chords, playing from the rich pool of repertoire from many traditions, time periods and cultures, while also developing the skills, techniques and right attitude to improvise music and be spontaneous and creative with music. Music Composition Summer Workshop
In addition to private music lessons, Matt also teaches a music composition camp ever summer. The Music Composition Summer Workshop is a summer camp that meets in July and gives music students an opportunity to create original music while strengthening their theory and musicianship skills through fun and engaging lessons. At the end of the week students present their new compositions for each other and family and friends in a culminating recital. There is an elementary level session (grades 3rd-6th) and a more advanced middle/high school level session (7th grade and up). Who would be perfect for this camp?

Monticchio Music Lessons
Matt and daughter Michaela Monticchio offer lessons, camps and workshops in music and performing arts. Read more about Matt here. Michaela is currently working on her Vocal Performance degree at York College. She has performed in music theatre productions at Belmont Theater, Dreamrights, The Lancaster Bible College and elsewhere. Currently she serves as Choir Director at Yorkshire UMC and teaches privately.
