Matt Monticchio is a musical improviser, a creative musical collaborator and teacher, a composer/pianist, and a church music director.

A graduate of West Chester University and Peabody Conservatory, where he earned degrees in piano, music education and music composition and loving and playing many types of music including Hip Hop, classical, jazz and music from cultures around the world, Matt draws from a diverse background of music and all these musical worlds inform and enrich his own. As a church music director he formed Pageant Music, a collective of musicians and artists seeking to glorify God in their creative efforts.

At Peabody Conservatory, Matt studied with Christopher Theofanidis while earning his masters in composition. Ron Thomas has been not only a teacher and musical-spiritual mentor, but a life-long friend. Ron, Matt and friend and fellow jazz pianist/composer David Thomas created the group Les 3, and began in the late 90s producing concerts of new music. Check out Les 3.
